About us
SheSurfs is built on a friendship started in the sea, by Co-Founders Sammie and Matilda. As two friends that came together through surfing as beginners, we know that everyone’s local surf besties are out there just waiting to be found, and we cannot wait to help you find them.
Our Story
Matilda and Sammie have been helping women connect through surfing for the last 4 years. Together with a team of amazing women, they grew Bristol Girls Surf Club CIC from a small Facebook group to a +3,000 woman-strong surf community that puts on dozens of events, socials, and trips every year - from surfing and forecasting, to pub socials and women's circles.
After creating a space where so many authentic female friendships have started and seeing the difference it can make, they want to share that feeling with more women. SheSurfs was created to bring women together through surfing across the whole of the UK, in some of the world’s best surf destinations.
Sammie
CO-FOUNDER
Since living in Bristol and swapping her snowboard for a surfboard, Sammie has helped build Bristol Girls Surf Club CIC, becoming the Director of Content and Engagement. With a background in videography, design, and digital content, Sammie can often be found behind a camera or a laptop, but her true calling is working with people. Sammie's goal is to help more amazing women find each other in the sea. When she's not on a board of some kind, Sammie can be found watching the rugby or hunting for iced coffee.

Emma
LEAD PHOTOGRAPHER
Emma grew up pretty far from the sea but, after moving to Cornwall, she found her way back into the water with her camera in her hand. With her love of storytelling, Emma’s been bobbing around the seas of West Cornwall, snapping all the amazing things women get up to in the water. When out of the water, Emma can usually be found picking up a new hobby for five minutes or anywhere with horses.
